"Following many miles and days searching beaches and eroded beach ridges, I came across this figure exposed from a wind blown sand deposit.  (Can you see it in the bottom right corner of the photo?) I lightly uncovered this artifact prior to this photograph, as I was not sure what it was...at first.  To my surprise, it was a Human figure sculpted from Woolly Mammoth Ivory by ancient Inuit groups north of Norton Sound, Alaska.  There were deposits of charcoal lying in another level adjacent to this find that proved to be an ancient camp site.  Nothing else significant found in this surface discovery."
